Here's my ongoing project that started out as a regular 870 Express with a 28" barrel. I'll try to remember everything that went into it:
- Tons of polishing on the slide/action for extremely smooth operation
- Remington 20" smooth bore barrel w/ iron sights (love them)
- TacStar mag extension
- Mesa Tactical Urbino stock with a Magpul MOE forend
- Mesa Tactical 6-shell side saddle
- S & J follower
- S & J jumbo safety
- Non-MIM extractor (police)
- Stiffer police carrier spring
- Magpul rear sling loop (wasn't a direct fit with the Urbino stock, took lots of work)
- Magpul front barrel/mag clamp with sling attachment point
- Magpul polymer rail section on the forend
- Surefire X300 light (easy to activate with one finger)
- DIY 550 cord handle (helps even when hand is not through)
As tacticool as it is, I use this thing a LOT and I do drills with DIY snap caps on a daily basis. I also shoot skeet with it and I like to keep the shells in the saddle and quickly feed them in the chamber one by one when the clay is released. It's not a light setup but it's very functional as far as I'm concerned. The other gun pictured is one of my SKS rifles and believe it or not I modded the crap out of that stock. Try comparing it to a factory ATI "Drag Queen" if you're curious
