870 Express pump questing

If you hold back really strongly on the fore-end of a 870 Express as you pull the trigger should the pump slide right back or should it hang up under the pressure?

I'm pretty sure the slide doesn't come back until the shot is way down range. Firing pin to shot out the barrel is milliseconds, the bolt head is cammed into the locking lugs.

I've seen pump guns open and eject the shell when you fire it without holding onto the pump at all and they seemed fine. If it was a problem, the empty would be miss shapen and gas would have vented out the side.
