Hey guys-this (honestly) is NOT a WTB ad, but may have messed-up the screw heads hastily switching buttstocks on the family 870 Youth/Express. Kids are adults/adult-sized...but at the last minute, asked for the smaller laminated stock before yesterday's shoot. I used the correct-sized (#2 I think) Phillip's driver, but it was a fight. lol In all honesty, the damage might have been there from the first time that stock came-off, as I was being careful..and work with hand tools for a living-going on decades now.

I know I could extract these (or think I can) from the recoil pad when I get it off again, march them down to the hardware store and get some clear-zinc-plated, low-root wood screws of the same length...but..if "Remington" is coming off, I'd like "Remington" to go back on. Recognizing, of course, that the company is kind of getting started again as things stand.

World won't stop turning if I can't find them of course, and it's honestly one of the few items on a modern-production gun you can find a good substitute for at Home Hardware. Still, if anyone has a lead (or part#) on where to find a couple, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hey 3macs1-no, they're plated black. (not that the colour matters) I've also never removed one from these gummy-feeling "Supercell" (?) recoil pads either. Wondering if anyone here has, and can advise. I've screwed the recoil pad back onto the full-length buttstock, otherwise, I'd try to extract one of those. Feeling like I (now) don't want a screwdriver on these any more than I have to.

yes that pic was just to show they have a shoulder washer fitted right on the screw or did on the 1187 forget the color supercell are just a black screw no washer ( i think ) and i use a good screwdriver with vice grips clamped on the shaft to get them out
