just wondering if it is worth just getting the 870 3" or is it worth it to spend the extra 30.00 for the super mag(3 1/2"), or are you ever even going to use the extra 1/2".
 
I bought the super mag and found it to be useless the 3 1/2' shells are very expensive and the recoil makes it less them fun to hunt with plus its not really needed

do buy the cobo with the rifle barrel as its a deal the rifled barrel alone is expensive

How expensive is too expensive for you? I use Kent or Expert Hi Velocity for an average of 13 bucks a box. Still cheaper than lead many years ago!
 
I like 3 1/2 for longer range canadas.I don't find the recoil bad at all.also if you ever sold the gun the rasale would be higher on the 3 1/2.I know the shells are a bit more but you can still shoot 2 3/4 if you want to so i say the 30 more is worth it forsure.just my .02
 
The 3.5 is worth getting JUST for geese... You won't feed the gun a steady diet of the 3.5, but you will want the payload for geese every now and then...

I bought an 870 in just 3" a couple years ago and an now wishing that I bought the 3.5" just cause it kills at extended ranges and really takes down the big canadas
 
With the Express Super Mag is there shorter barrels that a person can purchase? If so what length?

Is it possible to put on a 14inch barrel with 3inch shell Max?
