i am looking to get an 870 shoot gun

i looked at the 870 express cause thats the cheapest model as well built on a realiable action

the instructor i took the course with Owen Pratt sugested the wing master

is there a differance in the two models what are others person prefurance

my dad and i are looking to pick one up as it is ann all round hunting fire arm can be used on every thing from moose to squarls and HomeDef

also i looked at the N870 by Norenco does any one know if it's any good and even worth purchasing

for the money, get a remington. its not much more than a norc.
as for the express vs wingmaster. as far as i have read the main diferance is the finish and the stock. other than that they are pretty much the same gun.
i have an 870 marine magnum and i love it.
 
I recently bought an 870 Express 20 gauge from a member of this board and I'm real happy with it. It is the new model with the laminate stock and it is a great looking gun along with the matte finish on the metal. I have just installed a 20 inch slug barrel on it for deer hunting and it is the lightest, handiest shotgun that I have ever owned. So I would say go with the 870 Express.
 
yeah thats why i was considering the express i've seen it for 400 with a 3 1/2 inch meaning using comercial shells i can't load the wrong one yay no barrel explosion and lots of loads to chose from

any one have advice for shoot gun laods to keep on hand? i know thats an ammo question but it has to do with the shot gun i'm thinkng #10 or 9 for small game #F and #1 buck for home deffence slugs for hunting and home defence

does any one know if i could get a bayonet for an 870 ?

bayonet the M870 uses is a m16 , but the bayo attchment is bery hard to find
are you planing to use the 870 as a hunting gun and combat /home defence shotgun.
If so get the 2 barrle set remington offers
get side saddle ammo holder and a good single point sling and mount, pm me if you need any help with this.

Think of the Wingmaster as a high-end 870. Better fit, better finish, better wood. It is considerably more expensive tho!
 
I've had 2 870 Express 12 gauge shotguns for about 20 years now. The only problem that I have ever had was a tiny rock got into the trigger assembly resulting in the trigger being jammed.

I removed the trigger assembly (pushed out the 2 pins that hold it in) and blew out the rock reinstalled the assembly and was good to go.

I had been out duck hunting and had been extremely careless in where I was putting the gun down...
 
I'm getting one.

I have to defend myself against all those mallards and snow geese around here.

I've got two 870's; an Express Super Magnum (Marla) and a Marine Magnum (Alice), and love them both with a depraved and unholy passion :dancingbanana: .

It's virtually impossible to go wrong with an 870, and I have heard nothing but good about the Wingmasters. Go for it.
 
I don't think it would be sufficient for moose hunting, but I don't know what a squarl is. :confused:
But i have one and I do love it. Proof that simplistic designs trump all in durability and reliability. :cool:
 
squirrel sorry looked up the proper spelling guess thats why when ever i try and spell it with an "A" it never looks right

thats what i was suggested by my instructor it says in the ontario regulations that any shoot gun larger then a twenty gauge with shoot as long as that shot is no smaller the SG bird shoot or No. 1 buck i assume slugs of any calliber are legal but i wouldn't risk it with any thing less then a 20 gauge as i would be worryed about wounding it 4 gauge would be great the assistant instructor who i did my couse with had a replica of a 4 gauge shell thing was huge.

i saw a thing about a hunt with a 12 lbs cannon using 12 gauge shot i think it was something like 167 of them and then marking off a 200 acre area with blast tape it was kinda dumb seeing as they're could of been other deer then the one they saw they they would never of seen out of these 167 or so lead balls the only hit the deer with 6 so thats 161 led balls that are waisted and could of killed other wild life

Don't believe everything you read on Al Gore's internet. The same site that endorses hunting deer with a field cannon also talks about spiders eating horses.

Now, we have a beautiful daughter (spider) named Shadow. My wife feels blessed to have been the surrogate mother and the two of them (Hungry and Shadow) are part of our family. Today I found a lump on the inside of my mouth—what a joy!!

I own a 870 Express Combo Camo finish, and love it. I have fired a Wingmaster as well and prefer the Express, the pump is a lot smoother for rapid firing for clay shooting. I just wouldn't put 2 3/4 through it because they tend to jam. But other than that a highly recommended gun for the price.:dancingbanana:

If they are jamming, there is a problem.

You're either shortstroking or the gun's dirty.

I go with the shortstroking.

I've heard of 3.5" jamming on the wingmasters that are designed to take 'em, but never 2 3/4 on an Express. :confused:
 
I had an old Wingmaster jam on a 2 3/4 this morning.

I think I short-stroked it. Not the gun's fault.

lol OMGoddess thats so ####ing dumb what kinda turd bag would beleave some one would do something like that little own sell the eggs to other people
