870 Jam problem

Just to clarify a couple of points.

Remington came out with the Flexi-tab system in 1983. It consists of modification to 3 parts; the U shaped cut in the carrier, two cuts on the back end of the slide (the part that fits under the breech bolt) and a cut on the bottom of the breech bolt at the front.

This system was put in place to make it possible to clear a problem where a shell gets between the carrier and the slide. With the flexi-tab system, the operator pumps the gun in a normal fashion, albeit with a LITTLE more force than necessary.

Prior to this system; if the same thing occurred, it could not be pumped.

But my 870 is made in 2006...why doesn't it have the "U" on it? It's an 18" express 7-shot

All 870s leaving Remington since 1983 have all three parts of the flexi tab system. If your gun is a 2006, the carrier has been changed with a pre 1983 carrier or it is not a Remington carrier!

Guns that allow the user to jam it so easily suck practically as much as people who make condescending remarks instead of being helpful.

I'm sorry, but I've only had this problem once - MY FAULT - but I modded the carrier.

As I've said again and again, and I'll say it AGAIN, it's not the gun but the user.

Is it possible to retrofit anti-jam modifications into a pre-1983 Remington design, such as the Norincos?

Yes, just change all three parts as indicated in my earlier post. Remington sell a Flexi-tab kit that is much cheaper than buying the stuff cheaper.
