870 machined extractor

Yes, have ordered this part from Simon at S&J as well. Another great company for 870's stuff.

I have a couple of his extractors and am unhappy with them.

Sent Gravel an email. Will try Tacord next if Gravel doesn't work out. Those Volquarsten extractors from Dlask look pretty nice, but they will be my last resort, as they seem a bit spendy.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

What's wrong with the ones from S&J ? I was considering ordering one . who has the best and as I said what's wrong with S&J's extractor . I have one of their delron mag followers.

I have two of them. Both are chewing into the inside of my 870 receivers behind the ejection port, causing considerable damage.

Well thaat is strange. First I have heard of it.
The ones you got from us were remington ones I remember as we're were out of stock of the ones we make.
Same ones gravle and tac ord and brownells has.
Souks like you have a defective gun.
I've installed and sold more then 2000 of them in the last 25yrs ans I've never seen one damage a gun

Are you serious? How would you know? You don't even know when I purchased them!

I ordered one directly from you a few years ago. Meant to install it right away but it ended up in my parts box for a couple years. Then I bought a second 870 and ordered an extractor from OST. It arrived in SnJ packaging. I installed both extractors recently at the same time and they've both caused the same type of damage.

This was a problem years ago with the non-mim Remington extractors. They were manufactured without the bevel on the top outside edge.
Anyone buying or selling these should verify if they are receiving the improperly machined batch. They should have been out of circulation years ago.

Then you are not the person I was thinking you are
Eaither way why would you not have contacted us if u were having issues?

Do you know what years that was? If you can recall. As when I took the remington armours course it was not covered.
That said that was only a few years ago.
Thanks

It's never S&J's fault. My experience dealing with them.

Please feel free to share your issues wirh us here.
If it was a customer service issue m I,m sure thst would be our fault. As a very small company that has always been a struggle

If it was a product related issue . I would be very intreated to know what the issue is was.
If not please feel free to email us or call us.

I've been down that road with you before, Simon, and won't be doing that again. Besides, what would you have done? Compensate me for my damaged receivers?

Anyway, to be fair, I didn't come on here to bash your extractors. I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a non SnJ alternative.

I think they started turning up in 2009, J.D. McGuire of Ai&P Tactical was running into this problem with extractors from Remington. You could contact him and maybe he could provide more info.
