870 mag spring

I have a 870 special purpose turkey, about 1993 manufacture. My first gun, bought new. The mag tube indents were professionally ground and polished out. You can't even feel where they were. Amazing job. The gun has always been 100% reliable. Seems to work fine with the S&J follower in the original 4 shot mag.

If the follower getting snagged on the lip where the mag parts join has never happened, then the spring must still be too long. It does feel tight and a bit crunchy when I load the last shell. I'll cut a bit more off.
