870 mod questions

Some quick questions:

1) Is anyone making a drop-in steel trigger housing that you can swap the standard 870 parts into?

2) How much are the Dlask mag extension tubes, are they steel, and do they come with a longer mag tube spring? Also, do they just make the +1 and +2 extensions, or do they make one to work with the standard 20" Remington cylinder bore bbl?

The Dlask tubes come with an aluminum follower, adjustable sling attachment (integral part of it) and proper length mag spring. I have one for my new 16" barreled 870 and it looks great. It is steel. My +1 was around $50 IIRC, it came with some other stuff so I can;t say exactly how much it was. I can post some pics of it once the new gun arrives if you want. The +2 should be just about the perect length for a 20" barrel.

Has anyone got a pic of the +2 or +3 installed on a 20" bbl? I really wish the DLASK website offered more detail, pricing and pics.

They should also consider making parked real steel trigger guards! I'd buy one for sure! Aluminum TG is the weak link on an otherwise all steel shotty IMHO.

Do you HAVE to install the DLASK sling slot for the extender to work? I think I'd rather use the stock sling swivel "nub" as the slot isn't all that "QD".

Boy was I out to lunch on that post!!....I looked at my mag extension again and it is non-magnetic so has to be aluminum. Follower is aluminum as well.
Here is a pic of the +1 referenced to a 20" bbl, the +3 would go right on a 20".

Here is an 870 with a 3 shot extension. It was a... Tacstar I think? All steel. The barrel however is like a 21 or 22 inch, I couldent find a 20 inch at the time.

I have used Choate for a long time as well, works fine.

Too bad I know of no dealer stocking Choate. I know RePete can get 'em, but he has to import them and it takes a while.

The tacstars are not one piece. The nut is bonded to the tube and they have a "rep" for breaking at that joint.

It's a 20" barrel, and as far as the extension goes, it was on the shotgun when I bought it, so I'm not sure what brand it is.
