870 normal or synthetic

synthetic lasts as long as the wood... forever...

advantage to wood is the stock and forend are heavier.... sythetic lighter. wood absorbs water and dings easy.... synthetic does not.

for an all around bush gun, get synthetic...... for a casual duck . grouse gun get the beauty of wood.... if your buying a wingmaster, if it is just an express the birch is not as pretty.

I think it is.... better fit and finish as well as better wood..... we are only talking $200.

I own 3 870's a wingmaster, Marine Mag and an exress...... the wingmaster and MM i smoother, the inside are finished better and the overall finish on the exterior is head and shoulders above the express.

I've owned all grades of 870s. Wingmaster, Express, Special Purpose, and Special Field.

The Wingmaster grade IS worth the extra cash.

My sentiments exactly. How many shotguns are you really going to own in a lifetime? Why not spend the extra $200?
