870 pistol grip recommendations

Calum, are you talking about a pistol grip only, or a pistolgripped buttstock?
For pistol grip only I like to push my front hand forward and pull back with my rear hand to create tension in my arms. I find this helps absorb the recoil.

When I'm using my PISTOL GRIP ONLY on my MOSSBERG ,I push with the pistol grip hand and pull with the forestock hand . Just a little different from Can-down, but it seems to work for me. Also I found the pistol gripped shoulder stock, on the MOSSBERG didn't give me access to the safety, with the pistol grip only you can hold a little higher and you have not good but better access. Just some observations.

Pistol grip only...butler creek type.
Shotgun is a Maverick 88 so the safety is in front of the trigger.

I was honestly surprised by the recoil, and I've done enough Stone masonry and brick work in my day to have what some would call a "Death Grip". :D

I'm thinking it might be the design of the pistol grip, as it is just hard plastic, and seemed to throw most of the energy right into the meaty part of the base of my thumb/wrist, which then beats the snot out of the wrist bones.

I'll have to find a folding stock, before the pistol grip goes back on. :D

Thanx for the shooting tips, and sorry to hijack the post. :)

You lock the stock into the shoulder by pulling back on the PG. Your hand isn't (shouldn't) be taking any or at the very least, little, recoil. The body does.

I know most people are ATI haters (as am I for most parts!) but I have their pistol grip stock and I love it.

Sits on my 14" HP9 and it shoots sweet.

If I did it again, I'd go with a Speedfeed.

i picked up mine in the states while i was there, but i know that questar has them on their site.

check them out, they also have the new powerpak for the specops listed, and from the looks of it, seems like ill have to order that as well :)
