My 870 pump is getting stuck. It happened to me 2 weekends in a row now. I took it all apart thinking it was some dirt that just built up. But it's clean now and it did it again. The action is stuck open now. Last weekend it was stuck closed. Has this happened to you and do we know how to fix the problem

Define stuck open and closed. The Remington 870 is a pretty simple action, the 2nd easiest slide-action to disassemble/assemble that I'm aware of, that being said if you stripped the action are you sure you assembled it properly?

I had issues with my 870 when I first got it where the action would be stuck closed when firing, and caused extremely hard extractions. At first it was every round, then over time it was every second round. Now it must have smoothed itself out as it hasn't happened in a long time. Mine was also produced about 2008 which as I understand the quality took a drop at that point in time.

Had issues with a recently purchased new 20 guage Wingmaster. The action bar lock spring was part of the issue. Apparently some Wingmaster guns had the wrong spring installed and there is a recall on them. As well the action bars were not level with the left being bent down slightly causing problems when cycling the action. Hope this helps.

Where you shooting short brass/aluminum shells? Most newer Remingtons don't like short brass. A chamber polish helps.
