870 supermag jamming

shotguns

Thanks for the info-I was planning to order a Super Mag from SIR-$315. Pretty good price, but if there is an eject or feed problem then I think I will go for the Express 3in. Had a Wing years ago that ate lots of ammo and always spit it out easy. Think I may just go that route. Thanks guys.

I just bought a 3" from sir. It's not here yet. I've never had a problem with any of the 870's I've owned. Didn't need this one. But I figured for the price. I should have it. In case I need it.

Dave.

stick supermag

Pretty hard to beat that price at SIR. Ive seen used ones for more. And a rebate too. I have a Smith & Wesson pump that is still new I am selling but if it doesnt sell I will keep it for the range cause its so pretty. Dont want to take it into a duck pond though. The more tactical Express would be better in the swamp and easier to patch up. Thanks Triton.

Hmm I didn't realize this was such a wide spread problem, I was out shooting with my buddy on wednesday and we both had alot of stoppages (we both own remi 870 express mags mine was bought in august, his was bought about 2 years ago). We couldn't figure out what it was and suspected the tempreture because it was alot colder out than what we usually shoot in, and also because we've never had so many stoppages with our shotguns.

I have also posted a question to Remington to see if there is a response. Anyone who has one should do the same and maybe it will sink in. Will pass on whatever response I get if one does arrive. But I will hound them till I get a response anyways. Stubborn streak pays off sometimes.

Just a question with the barrel lengths avaible to the 870 Express Super Mag? Is there any chance of purchasing a 18inch barrel for this shotgun?

I just purchased an 870 express and the wood is in poor shape. I am a keen wood worker and was going to restore it but can not get the forend tube nut undone to get the wood forend off. Short of taking it to a professional gunsmith is there any method that a handyman can use to get this job done.
