Hey guys~wondering if you can help. I was in the EE shotgun parts a week or so back, and noticed what looked like a telescopic butt stock for an 870. Looked older, robust, but it got gobbled-up quick and I never got a second look to do a little research into what it was.

Anybody see that thing? Anybody here buy it? Details?

I have the ATI on my 870 it replaced a side folding non telescopic CHOATE brand one that was WAYYYY to long for my littlwe stubby T_Rex like arms. with the ATI it combines the telescopic but along with M4 style that works a lot better for me. why you looking for a side folder ?

What was the make of it?

Me personally, I like the range of adjustment of AR style sliding stocks on a shotgun, but I don't like having to press that big fat buffer tube against your cheek on a platform where you need to get low on to use the sights.

I wouldn't want one unless I were running ghost rings or an optic.

My 870 clone is running a mesa stock with a mesa crosshair hydraulic recoil buffer tube inside. I can plink away all day with slugs and not get sore. I love it.

Think I found it, made (was/is?) by SAGE INTERNATIONAL; http://ustacticalsupply.com/sagetelescopingshotgunstockforremington870.aspx

Only caught a glimpse of the one in the EE, but I think this was it. Anybody have one? Opinions? Especially interested in the OAL it adds to the receiver when collapsed. A contender for NR on a 12.5" Grizzly...? What I'm wondering.

That looks really similar to the NEA telescoping AR15 stock, you'll need a Mesa stock adaptor for the NEA buffer tube to screw into. No comment on the OAL with that style. I can tell you the Mesa LEO will keep an 12.5" grizzly in the non restricted class @ 30" at it's shortest OAL.

The only problem with the s&j or the Mesa high tube stock kit if you loose the ability to use the stock bead sight or ghost ring sights, as the stock and buffer tube are the same height as the top of the receiver. You either have to go with some kind of sights or optic on the full length rail.
