Just a regular production wingmaster according to remington produced from 1996 to I am guessing 2000. I thought they came out in 88 but am obviously wrong on the year.Regardless they came with what remington 1st called an engraved receiver but later in the 1st year changed the wording to enhanced. Gun also had a gold trigger which yours has and some years had the word remington some didnot and there were a couple of patterns for different years it seemed.
Mine also had a light contour barrel (LC). You don't see many because few people have bought new wingmasters in the late 90's vs all that were sold prior. There is a couple on gunbroker right now if you what to check there.

They mention the change here

Nice shotgun! Sorry about your friend. Try the site remingtonsociety.com I'm sure somebody there could help you if you don't get an answer here.

perfect thanks guys, i have seen many wingmasters but never with any engraving glad to finally find something about it.

Here is one off gunbroker with a bit different enhancement pattern but close to the same year as yours. You have a nice gun there. Also don't let the gunbroker sold price determine the value of yours. You can add at least 100-150 to that for canada and a bit more if your barrel is threaded for choke tubes.

The 870 model you have was called 'Enhanced Receiver Engraving" nothing special about it. If you like the look, keep it because they don't make them anymore. Myself, I prefer the plain receiver. If you need Rem chokes for it, I seen some at Cabelas this weekend for around $30 each.

Never get $700.00. If it shows any use at all I think realistically $500.00 is in range.
Also note the one on gun broker has been relisted several times at $399.00 and no bids.
In fact about a month ago someone wanted to know value of an older wingmaster from the 60's that was fairly nice and I said $250.00, maaybeee $300.00 to the right person and I was basically told I was crazy.

It is the barrel that is worth the bucks and takes it out of the 60's group wingmasters. I just ordered just the barrel for a guy and it was 335 plus tax with one choke tube from a site dist. Also where you live in this wonderful country and the tax you pay. Here that gun sells new for 699 new so with the 15% tax and mint 600 was still a deal. I can see where you are coming from for 500 being out west.

This gun is in mint condition , may have 100 target loads through it , not single mark scratch or anything on any part of this gun. I have 2 barrels 28" and 30" and 7 chokes with it. I would never sell it I was just curious as to the value of it. I had an older guy at the gun club offer 1000 cash for the gun and 30" barrel but again I would never sell it .

enjoy it and shoot it. A second barrel was never added into our discussion that increases value once again. take care
