Hello,

I picked up a 1991 Wingmaster Magnum that was in mint condition. However, upon shooting it, I'm noticing that the forearm sticks after each shot. I have to pull on the pump very hard to cycle the action. When I originally got it, I almost had to use both hands to pump the action but after tweaking (straightening) the magazine tube, it's a bit better but still causing issues.

UPDATE: I shoot a lot of high velocity Challenger (Canadian Tire) shells. However, it will sometimes even stick high Federal Heavy Field loads. I have noticed a light surface rust inside the chamber, I will be polishing it soon to see if that helps.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kevin

Is the forearm putting pressure on the mag tube, and cheap shells also give problem. Does it cycle freely empty. If so, the chamber may need polished, but that's usually not an issue with older (higher QC standards) guns

You don't tweak mag tubes on wingmasters if bent it may have to be replaced which is not a quick task. Take a good look at the rub marks something is still out of wack I would say
Cheers

Take a piece of paper & see if you can run it under the handguard all the way down, similar to checking a rifle barrel to see if it's "free-floated" ? if it's sticking when's it's fully to the rear it could?? be the carrier assembly? if may be bent?

Check the forearm clearance, as has been said. The Magnums use a differently clearanced forestock. I have had this grief with mine. Pull the pump off and mark it, see if it leaves witness marks on the front edges of the receiver.
