870 Wingmaster mag parts

Hi everyone,

I’m helping to restore 870 Wingmaster and it is missing few magazine parts:
-follower
-cap
-spring retainer
Is there place around York Region, ON that sells original remington parts?

p.s. is spring retainer really necessary part?

forget it is missing and take the mag cap/barrel off and it will answer your question after it scares the crap out of you and flys 25 feet in the air LOL and hope you are in an area you can find it

I assume that wingmaster we are working on is made in 1978

which one of these spring retainers will fit? can I check it somehow before ordering?

the top one, is identical to the one in my 870 that was purchased this year.

I just double checked serials - receiver serial has prefix V which means 1978, barrel code shows 1988 or 1976.

Top one if mag tube has the dimples and bottom one if prior to dimples being put in the mag tube.

to the OP this above plus make sure you order the right gauge since they are different
78 should use the old style on the bottom pic

looks like 870 parts are not as interchangeable as I first thought
