887 barrel

i was wondering if someone know if shorter (than 28inch) barrel for rem 887 can be found and where.

The 887 was made specifically for waterfowl hunting so no you probably will not find a shorter barrel.

I sent an email to Remington asking them to send a short barrel off the tactical model to a dealer here in Canada so that I could buy one. I got a very curt response from them saying that the tactical model was new for 2010, and that they wouldn't be selling just the barrels. They also said that since i was in Canada that they especially wouldn't be able to sell me one due to import/export rules.
I was meaning to write back to tell them how angry that made me and that I wouldn't be buying another Remington for a very long time because of this stupid attitude towards customers that bought their new model shotgun in good faith, expecting to get good service in the future, but I was too angry to do it.
Maybe all other Nitro owners need to send an email with me saying as much too?

and this is why you buy an 870.

dont feel too bad though: just a barrel for the Benelli Nova/Supernova (which the 887 is a ripoff of) costs more than a complete 887 shotgun.

Frankly, manbearpig, after the response I got from Remington about this I doubt I'll even be thinking about buying anything Remington after this, even an 870.
