i can still get 3031 locally for 48.99 a pound and there is still a few pounds on the shelf I might just grab all things considered.
Think i might go clean him out of 4451, 4895 and 3031 on sunday which is my "stop in at the shop" day hehehe

Yeah, not for sale... I've got a couple Win '94 .30-30's that it can feed.
Plus, pretty versatile, it can be used for other ctgs, too.

Honestly IMR3031 can be used for most non-magnum cartridges and it is accurate. I use it in .223, .243, .303, 38-55, .308, 30-06, 45-70 . My second go to powder seems to be Varget . I am glad I bought some a few years ago when it was going for 40 a pound.
Good old 3031. That’s what I started with, along with a LEE Loader for my 30-30’s. I scored a whole bunch (12 or 16 lbs.) of 44N, which is AmmoMart powder. It is a close match to 3031. I use it in .303, 30-30, 8x57 etc. I was warned about 44N possibly going bad, as it didn’t seem to age well. The powder I ended up with was stored properly and turned out to be okay. I took it all out of the cardboard cans and now store it in plastic containers.
A jug of 3031 on the shelf is a good thing to have. Versatile and works well across the pressure spectrum from lighter loads to heavy. It's not optimum for the "magnums" but it is perfectly serviceable in most. In these times of scarce supply, a jug of 3031 is an insurance policy. And like a life insurance policy, you need to buy it before you need to use it. 3 Years ago 3031 was going for $40/lb or $260/8lbs.

One of the oldest powders, original replacement for 303 British cordite. Actually stands for 303 #1. A great do anything small to medium rifle powder. When looking at recipes, it disappears as a recommended powder as projectile gets large for bore.
Might not be the fastest, or most accurate in everything. But it works well in almost everything. Good insurance policy in huge inflation for reloading consumables.

I think the "shortages" are mostly affecting rifle powders/primers/bullets. Tough to find 7mm rem mag bullets that I prefer and the ee has been good in that regard vs the online stores.
Primers.... pistol primers aren't hard to find online , large and magnum rifle primers not so much. Locally there has been no primers for over a year.....
Powder.... pistol and shotgun powders aren't hard to find at all..... popular rifle powders sell out as fast as they are stocked. My local shop has a few pounds of imr3031 , 4895 and 4451 that I think I will stop in tomorrow and grab another pound or 2 of each priced 48.99 to 53.99. Someone asked about Unique in one of the threads or EE ads..... my local guy has 17 x 1pounders in stock but don't think they can ship it from here
Rifle Brass..... there's brass to be found but I've noticed a sharp increase in price and a decrease in availlability across the board but it's out there if you hunt around online. My local shop has nothing but a spattering of pistol and straight wall rifle brass.... nothing in the .303, .308, 7mm rem mag ect ect.
with shipping a 50 count of new nosler brass (7mm rem mag) from an online retailer is gonna run me 180.00 ...... crazy town. Buying "once fired" 7mm rem mag brass is a non starter for me so will work with my own once fired factory brass from hunting and might order one box of new nosler while it's availlable.

Agreed. They have plenty of powder on hand along with primers too. Lots of shot as well. Brass and bullets (rifle) not so much.
