Hey all. I picked up some 220gr SP projectiles the other day and they look fairly old. I'm curious if any one knows when Hornady stopped making that size. Or to help narrow down the age further, box has metal reinforced corners. I would post a photo but I'm not sure how. Can anyone take a guess at their age. Best I can find on google is a post from 2007 that already mentions that Hornady doesn't make them anymore.

Yeah, they stopped production in the mid 2000's, this bullet was designed for the 8mm Remington Magnum and as that cartridge is sliding into obsolescence plus the fact they are not really suitable for the 8x57mm as they basically act like a FMJ on thin skin game unless shot within 100 yards as they don't expand at the lower velocity, they decided to stop making them.

Go with the Hornady Interlock 195gr. SP it is a better bullet for the 8x57mm, or even better the 170gr SST or 180 GMX.
