Hello guy,

I’m looking to start casting for my Mle 1892.

I have the mould but now I need to find a sizer for it. Problem is I can’t find one.

Any lead on where I can find one ? I don’t have a sizing too at all. Looking for advices !

What size do they come out of the mold? I'm betting they will be fine as cast.
As long as they aren't way oversized and the loaded rounds chamber you are fine.

I have many guns that get bullets as cast (my French 1873 and 1892 among them) and some are run through an oversized lube/sizer die just to lube them and barely touch the sides.
 
So you want to buy a die for $50 or so....then pay a shop to open it up for another $50 or so???

Lee Sizers are dirt cheap.

But yes you can have a compatant person open it up for you

Ok, I wanted to know if that was a complicated procedure. I have a friend who own a machine shop in town so it won’t be that expensive if any. I will look for used lee sizer on the EE. I’m pretty sure I can find one used and make it fit before Lee makes a custom one for me. (They say 6 weeks waiting time on there site)

If I remember correctly the nearest size Lee makes is .323" so it's not a huge adjustment but you still want it done carefully so it doesn't go out of round. People advise sanding them out but you have to check often as you go.

If you have a friend that can help you out it might not be too bad a project. Start with a good grade bolt or threaded rod in 7/8"x14tpi and have him ream a tapered hole to the size you want. A small straightforward job for someone with the right tooling. Shouldn't need hardening if you aren't doing hundreds of thousands.

Mine took 3 weeks
 
I think I have every Push-Through Sizer made by Lee, and I also have quite a few Custom "Lee-Type" Push-through Sizers.

I also have the "NOE Bullet Molds Bushing Push Through Size Die" and several of their bushings. If this had existed when I started casting, I would have bought one from the start.


IMO, if you like Push-through Sizers and intend to use them for three or more sizes, the NOE approach is worth it.

The NOE are only available directly from them I believe. Never used them myself but wish I had known about them when I started out.
I went down the Lyman luber-sizer path and am a bit reluctant to start over.

Correct - only from NOE, and since we're not to publish vendor links for non-sponsors, if you Google "NOE Bullet Molds Bushing Push Through Size Die", it takes you right where you need to be.

It's not too late!

I too have a Lyman setup, with lots of lube, sizers, even a heater, and it can be easily sold as can surplus Lee Lube-sizers.
