Also, I would implore you not to sport it out. Even buggered, it is still better and more valuable than a sporter. If you are hell bent on sporting it, hell, I will buy it off you to prevent that.

German k98ks went from obsessive serial numbering to the bare bones by late 1944. 90% of late war guns are not correct. Lots were in good condition as they hadnt seen much action, or were still in the factory so they were rpime candidates for reissue by another country.

I'd just clean it up and use it as is rather than change things on it.

Thanks for the input fellows. I'm going to take it out and shoot it tomorrow if the weather is good. Most likely post it on the EE after that,,, I'm sure it will find a good home.
