I guess it would be poor form to brag that a fellow member at my range gave me a huge bag of once-fired 8mm brass last month. At the moment I could equip a platoon belonging to Kaiser Wilhelm II.

You can buy brand new unprimed brass from Henry at Budget. Commercial loads aren't that hard to find either, its just hit and miss at some places. At a gun show last month a guy had 5 or 6 bags of a hundred brass in 8mm on his table.

I took Betty (my mg34) to the range yesterday. She has a healthy appetite. Lol. I started buying 8mm surplus of any kind about 2 years ago. I can feed Betty pretty cheap at about $.50 a round. If you want to shoot figure out how you're going to feed it and drop the cash at every chance you get wether you buy new ammo, surplus ammo or reload. I have never seen ammo or components get cheaper. Money well spent now will probably save you money later.

I am glad I am setting on 4k rounds of 8mm. I could see many years ago it was starting to dry up so I stocked up my reserves.

Yes, it is that easy. I've used .270 as well.

I have no plans on taking mine to the grave. I ran about 100 through Betty yesterday. She liked it. A bit of yugo and some romainian to spice things up

You can use a dremel or a file to remove a lot of excess neck on the reformed 30 06. It will save you a lot of time trimming. Or I suppose you could/should use a drill to save wear and tear on your wrists.

Right now I'm experimenting with powder coating 32 special cast bullets in order to bump the diameter up to .325 so they can be fired through an 8x57.

I'm finding that cast bullets are the only economical source of bullets these days. Buying factory ammo for $60 a box of 20 is not going to happen.

I've done OK shooting the Lee .324 mould. Kinda gone sour on the powder coating though.

Definitely try Leduc Canadian Tire. They even have 50 BMG on the shelf.
