I don't know what it is but I do know its a pain in the butt to find surpluss 8mm mauser these days. I bought some at the last gun show i was at, I think 45 rounds for 30 bucks?

Indeed, I was lucky enough to find a crate of Yugo a few months ago, and boy is it nice stuff .
