308 Norma blown out. Anyone shoot one? Epps did some a while back, maybe 30 ys. I have always liked the Norma so this has me interested. It is coming from an estate I will be selling (I think). What gin do you have it built on? Thanks AJ.

I had one quite a few years ago, and my buddy at Canim Lake, BC, also had one. His was a rechambered military barelled action in a new stock. Mine was a rebored 308 Norma Mag done by Alven Petersen at the Rifle Ranch in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan.

I shot hundreds of Norma 196 gr Dual Cor bullets in mine because they were so cheap back then, 10 or 12 cents a piece from Tom Higginson.

Imagine, we loaded magnum ammo for less than three dollars a box of twenty using surplus H4831 and CIL primers! Big game trembled when we even mentioned these rifles.

The two I am familiar with were both quite accurate and powerful big game rifles. You shouldn't be disappointed in yours.

Friend of mine up here got a VZ24 done in 8mm-300 Win Mag a few years ago. Loaded with 200 gr Partitions it has become his "everything gun". :)

We ordered the dies from C-H 4D, and they were here in less than a month. If the rifle comes with dies you are set. If not CH will have them.

Ted
