I just started another little 'decoration' project based on my beloved 8X56R so I figured I would take a sec to take a few pics, figured I would post this one of rounds in comparison
From Left:
9mm Black Talon
9mm Ball
357 Mag
5,7X28 (a round only a Belgian could concieve, let alone think worthwhile for anything)
5,56 HP
5,56 55gr
5,56 62gr
8X56R (1938 Austrian manufacture)
8X56R (1938 Hungarian, with the annealing evident)
8X56R (1939 Bulgarian manufacture)
303 Brit (1919 drill round)
7,62X54R (Remington Bronze Point)
Winchester 50-110 Express
30-06 FMJ
and a 50 BMG just out of frame
I have to say the quality of the Austrian and Hungarian 8X56R rounds still rivals pretty much anything made 70 years later.
