Well today I went into a local gun store and happened to come across about 200-250rds of Nazi surplus 8x56r on the Mannlicher clips for fairly cheap as they probably had sat there for a while.
When I got home I looked through the box and found some of them (about 25rds worth) on brass stripper clips (or chargers) not on the standard Mannlicher clips. The casings have only a 55 on the top and a 71 on the bottom for the headstamp (no Nazi marks or anything else for these ones). I was wondering if anyone knows why there on stripper clips as opposed to Mannlicher clips as I was under the impression that all rifles that used this round used the Mannlicher clips system. The brass chargers have no markings on them as well.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
