8x57 and 9.3x57

Are the brass of these two cartridges the same length? I want to start reloading the 9.3x57. I wonder can I use my Lee 8x57 case trimmer on the 9.3x57 brass? I bought some norma brass in 9.3x57 and a hornady die set. But I don't know where to get a case trimmer for the 9.3x57.

Hmm, is 57mm the same as 57mm? Tough question. Let's go with a nominal yes. - Dan

The 9.3 case will be shorter if it's made from an 8x57 case. The case mouth probably won't be straight either. Depending on how bad it is, it may or may not be an issue.

Fornanserious answer, depends what type of case trimmer you are using. If one of the mini lathe styles the sized piece that goes in the neck Of the case to keep it straight won't fit. You can always use a fine tooth hack saw and file (not kidding, it does work). - dan
