Thinking of ordering from Districorp some 8x57 igman ammo.
Anyone use it here? Did you like it?
Just currious and some of you have been very helpful while others ....well;)

I use it. It's of marginal quality, but the brass is great for reloading.

How -normal- is the flashhole on the 8x57? Is it crimped too?

I have 6.5x55 that after de-crimping, flashhole normalizing (read: drilling) and serious annealing, it is workable for me

Tough as nails once you beat it into submission

I can't remember if it's crimped or not...? I have some ammo left somewhere but I;d have to go digging for it.

As I recall, the flash holes were acceptable. Maybe 1 in 10 needed re-centering. I never had to anneal it right away, but I anneal every few loading anyhow on most brass - just to extend case life.

what annealing method do you use?

With the Igman, I seem to have to anneal it once, neck-size, and re-anneal it again  Then I can seat bullets with appropriate neck-tension.

The 6.5x55 brass at least seems to like to spring-back to its former self after resizing, and when you seat the bullet it sometimes does not hold it well afterwards, it can slide in and out rather easily; the second anneal seems to finally get rid of that. I am using the quasi-scientific "blowtorch-till-you-feel-the-heat-on-the-fingers" method...
