Does anyone have a Canadian source for the older 8x57I rounds? Is anyone still commercially loading the .318 diameter bullet to decent pressures, or am I stuck with handloading? I didn't want to have to shoot the anemic American offerings, particularly.

Thanks for any help,

I'd say you're stuck reloading. if you've saved your cases all you need is a few boxes of .318s and everything else is local.

Tradex and others sell Sellier & Bellot and Prvi. S&B have 196 grain fmj, 200 grain Nosler; Prvi has some 250 grain FMJ BT, but not sure Tradex can get all of those - they show the 139 grain Prvi only right now. Winchester is 170 grain.

Royrolf - he is looking for .318", not the JS version which is .323"

A place called Pullen's Gunsmithing had a few boxes of .318" Norma bullets on their shelf a while ago. I know it means handloading, but I suspect you will be stuck.

They are definitely a scarce item to find in any kind of a retail environment.I have snagged the odd box of .318 at gunshows from time to time.Another option would be the cast bullet route as they can be custom sized for just about any bore out there, assuming you are set up for reloading.

If you want to start hanloading, which seems your best solition, check out the Woodleigh 200 grains 0.318" bullets.

Appreciate the responses, guys! I wanted to avoid hand loading for the now, for various reasons, but seems its the only solution these days. I need to get set up for it anyway, for the 9.3x57 anyway. I've heard nothing but good about Woodleigh, and saw they had some .318" bullets on the Tradex site too. Thanks, Baribal :)
