You asked for tips and things to watch out for. Just make sure your rifle is not the old .318" barrel. Very unlikely unless it is a commercial mauser sporter.

I get best results with a heavy bullet (195 gr) and a medium to medium slow powder RL-15, N150 4350.

I have 3 of them in .318", and have not found any markings on them to the effect. One is a sporter and two are 1988's.
