9” barreled Mares leg?

I was looking at Chiappa’s site and noticed they make the mares leg with a 9” barrel. Has anyone seen these anywhere?

...yes I realize that it would probably be restricted with the short stock...

I found out they are available in Canada but are restricted due to the short stock. I don’t know about anyone else but I want one in 44mag!

That's not possible. The only mechanism for a factory manual action to be deemed restricted is for it to be deemed a handgun. Being short and being a a handgun are not directly related. However if it is only restricted due t length, then one would expect it to be non-restricted with a full length stock attached.

Bingo.... as I said the 12" ones are NR. Doesn't make sense that the 9" ones are restricted

Well I guess the retailer I spoke with must be wrong. Anything is possible with our screwed up gun laws.
Regardless, throw a full stock on it and your good to go.

Shouldn't be restricted.. I mean, I have a mare's leg and it's below 18.5" barrel and below 26" OAL and it's still NR.

Barrel length shouldn't come into play unless it gets classified as a handgun (like in the US); which it wont because you still need two hands to operate the action.

That being said a NR, mare's leg in 9" barrel, yeah, I'll buy one to complement the one I already have :)

a 9" barrel would be 3.5" less than this (so 21.5" OAL)
