Hi,

Does anybody own one of the Zastava fullstock rifles in 9,3x62? If so, please share your experience with this particular rifle (not interested in comments regarding any other lighter caliber).

Thank you,

RSA1

I have one in 375 H&H Magnum that I got converted to 416 Rem. Mag. Excellent adjustable trigger on these rifles. A superbly accurate and ultra reliable Mauser.

Is it miserable recoil wise? The few I have are lighter cartridges but the recoil pads are like hockey pucks...
I'm still amazed we can get a full on '98 rifle like these with dark blueing, nice triggers, walnut stocks for $600-$800.

Accustomed to it, I've been using the 416 RM and 416 Ruger for hunting for a lot of years. These are functional, accurate and reliable rifles that provide a lot of value for the money.

I picked up an 'inexpensive' Zastava. The action isn't as silky smooth as many other brands but, ;) good bang for the buck.

And, with the first two batches of reloads. :) No complaints.

I had one in 9.3x62 and the only issues that I had where I found the length of pull for the stock quite long, other than that the action was a little rough. I think they are good value for the money and the action is basically an FN supreme Mauser action and I believe that Zastava bought the tooling off FN long ago when FN stopped making the Supreme Mauser action.

I have one in 9.3. the action is not that smooth. At one time, I chambered an empty round while stalking a black bear. So the feeding can be an issue if you don't insert the cartridge in the magazine properly. It is a reliable rifle generally.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the fast response and useful information. It the stock holds up to 375 H&H and 416 Rem Mag, it should do well with the much milder 9,3.

I have arms the length of an ape, so a longer stock will be fine for me.

True enough and  I neglected to mention experiencing the same problem in my earlier post. I have two, one in .366 Wagner and the same in 7x57 and have had both shortened.

Hi Fellow CGN'ers,

Thank you for the input. I have just bought a Zastava 9,3x62 from Prophet River at a very good price, from their "On Consignment" stock. A great company to deal with.
