Do you guys have or use a LEE case length gauge for the 9.3?

for some reason they are rare as hens teeth in Oz an iv been told I cant get one from my LGS thru the lee distrib......... but I can spend $60 odd for a complete Trim Die... no thanks, period.

Does anyone have any Family coming to Aus soon which can pop me a LEE CLG in 9.3x62 an that they could send once they arrive?

I will sus out the American online websites an see what shipping will Cost..

My alternative is, can this be done? 35 Whelen CLG 'Machined Down' app 1mm??? on a lee gauge it isn't the pin I want to machine down it would be the fatter section, at the base, right...
thanks

Not seeing 9.3x62 currently listed on the Lee Precision website. They will do a custom case length gauge for US$16.00. I have used this service before.
https://leeprecision.com/custom-case-length-gauge.html

However they list 9.3x62 as an overrun available for immediate shipment.

"International orders
For our international customers, we charge a $15.00 packaging and customs documentation preparation fee + the actual shipping rate from the US Post Office or UPS.
"

You will also need the case conditioning combo.

9.3x62 case length is 2.441", 35 Whelen is 2.494 or 0.054"/1.35mm longer.

Pin length can vary. 416 RM (#5 SH) / 375 H&H (#5 SH) / 35 Whelen (#2 SH) / 300 WM (#5 SH) shown here.

Try Higginson, got mine there for $8. They may do international shipping for you, Andrew is a pretty reasonable guy.

Strange- when I was going to start loading for my .310 Cadet, I got a CBE bullet mould from Oz (not surprising) but when I went to order the .310 dies from Lee, it was actually cheaper (including shipping) to buy a set from Western Firearms in Oz than get one made up by Lee! Lee obviously makes them up in batches for Western Firearms - whicb means Lee has all the specs and presumably CNC data - but it was still subject to the special setup charge.

(As it turned out, although I got all the stuff to load for the .310, I eventually decided to have it rebored to .357 mag. amd ended up selling the dies and mould to someone here on CGN.)

Slammer, thank you for the specs an stuff, I think what I'm going to do is Lathe down my 35 Whelen CLG pin and custom it to the 9.3........... I can alwaaays buy another 35 whelen!

weird that LEE arnt doin it anymore....
tried to search a higgonsons but came up with a machining company from Toronta area? is this the guy?

I think the shipping will be a killer for anyone or anything as far as Canadian purchased and sent to Aus, I think the best bet is to find a cartridge that also tops out at X63mm

does any of you know a Case more readily available which could be utilised?
failing, the Whelen wins.

well well. I found a 303 case length gauge today, after I purchased one the other week...grr
anyway have a look at the differences............. yet note the pin is the decider...

You could modify a Lee #90164, case length gauge to diameter and length. It is for a 375 H&H.

I have done this for a 6mm Dasher from a 243 WSSM.

The diameter was right but the length was not.

Chuck it in a drill motor and use a lathe file to get the diameter close then finish with emery paper.

Doesn't take long and works well.

hey dudes, a Grinding wheel was needed to file down the PIN, very hardened steel.

I'm happy with results and encourage anyone else to do the Same.

seems Titan reloading in America is carryng 9.3x62 CLG but not many other places!
Australia none.

thank you Slammer the jammer.
