It is NOT the same as the 9.3x57.. It is a much less powerful cartridge. When they were around, factory 200 grain loads were about 2100 fps, the 9.3x57 is about 2700 fps. As far as I know, the 9x56 is no longer loaded but 8x56 is and you can neck up the 8MM brass to make 9 (,358 diameter bullet). A 200 grain bullet and 37 grains of 3031 would make a good starting point. Most listed loads show 40 grains of 3031 as max in this round. Hope this helps.
