Hi I just picked up an old Husqvarna M98 sporter chambered in 9.3 x 62. I will be loading a 286 grain Norma soft point bullet in Lapua brass. My reloading manuals indicate that Reloader 15 is a good powder to use. For those of you that reload this cartridge do you have a favourite powder?

I use RL 15. I'm planning on trying out Varget in the near future. IMR 4064 should be useable, and while I have some test rounds loaded up, I haven't gotten them out to the range yet.

Most of my loads are 286 gr. with RL15, some with Varget, and have used some IMR3031 with light 220-232 gr. bullets. It's not a fussy cartridge.

I use H4895 exclusively. I had lots of it for other cartridges so I tried it and it works quite well. Accurate and decent velocity. Plus, if you are ever wanting to make reduced loads, it works for that.

Ditto. Had it on hand when I bought the 9.3, tried it, and it worked great. I've tried the 250 gr TTSX, the 286 Prvi, and the 280 gr NOE cast bullet.

I’ve shot a few thousand(!) rounds out of my 375 Whalen Improved which is so similar that reloading data for starting loads is interchangeable. I’ve had best results with 270 grain bullets and IMR4064.
I will, however try some of the other powders suggested here.

How fast have you all been able to get the 250 ttsx?
Is it as fast as you'd like for that bullet? Still expand well at 200+ yards? I've read people getting it up to 2600-2650 fps but I would've thought 2750 was possible. Haven't bought a 9.3 yet and if the ttsx velocity isn't great for expanding the bullet I might go 35 whelen AI instead and run the 200 gr ttsx
Thanks. I have no experience with medium bore
