9.3 x 62

Seems expensive...and that price is before tax and shipping. Not long ago, it seemed that reloading was no longer a very good deal, with all the high-quality ammo and also all the discount brand ammo available. However, now with these escalating prices, I suppose reloading might again be the way to go, although I haven't checked out powder and component prices lately. Maybe with inflation and the low Canadian dollar, reloading has become expensive too.

Damned expensive. I won't be buying any at those prices. If I didn't handload, I wouldn't own a 9.3, I'd probably stick with something boringly mainstream, .308, .270, or .30'06.

The Lapua isnt a bad price, which is why I loaded up on it. You can buy components from Europe, I was gonna buy rws brass from frankonia, but never got around to it.

After checking out the various ammo prices, it looks to me like it won't be too long before we think that paying $100. for a box of twenty rounds of whatever is normal.

Pretty much. Last week I picked up half a dozen boxes of lapua 9.3, the heavy weights were 80$, the light 180s were 60$ (amazing prices for Lapua). They mentioned they had Hornady at 120$+ a box! I commented that hornady being twice as much as lapua seemed crazy, to which they said they bought the lapua last year, the hornady this year.

I just returned form the range, sighting in my Husky 1640 I got from Intersurplus.

I have PPU brass on order, along with 750 Missouri 275gr bullets for plinking. I got 300 of the 270 gr Speer soft points for more serious work.

For today's sighting I used the 270 Speers over 61 gr of N150 (2450 fps). The brass was made from necked up 30-06 Winchester cases.

The brass expanded from .340 at the web to .375 I assume that .375 is because of the chamber size. I don't see how this difference would cause a problem in a rifle.

My plan is to use 3006 brass for the Missouri lead bullets and the real brass (PPU) for the higher pressure soft point loads.

For those interested Prophet has an option to order two Buffalo Bore 9.3X62 loads right now.
