I need one for my Savage, but I can't find this size of allen key at Home Depot or CDN tire.

Is this an odd size? Does anyone know who sells them?

Thanks!

Are you sure about the size? What screw on a Savage is it?
I have a Bondhus set sitting here in the desk, it jumps from 7/32 to 1/4 to 5/16.

A metric 4mm fits perfectly into my stock screws on a center-feed stevens. You will need some tiny SAE ones for the trigger adjustment screws however if yours is a pre-accutrigger.

If you tried your 7mm wrench and it was a no go, you don't need a 9/32 (about .280") wrench. The 7mm is only 6 thou smaller and it should fit.

I have hundreds of Allan wrenches and I do not have a 9/32. I don't think there is such a size.

my mistake, I looked at two of my metric key sets, and both don't have 7mm. :( 9/32" is from Savage's owners manual, so they exist.

I'll root around for a 7mm, thanks.

i have one , i got it from a cheap set at wal-mart, it isnt an actual l-allen key but a bit that attaches to a screw driver thingy

Allen Wrenches

I have had pretty good luck going to places like Ackland Granger or Northern Metalic. Most of the industrial supply stores have any tool imaginable or can get it pretty quickly. You pay a little more, but often its one stop shopping so it saves a lot of running around and liquid gold aka gasoline.

i had a savage 10fv in a 22-250 and had the same problem. went to Princess Auto, grabbed a set of allen keys and presto ,problem solved. they are called Power fist, comes in a grey plastic case, nine T handled keys. I think i paid $15. works like a charm.
