9.3x 74R

I've been wanting a 9.3x74R in a No.1 S for a bit. Cool old cartridge in a classic firearm. I think a nice double rifle chambered for that would be really cool as well for N.A.

Prophet have one right now but it is too much money for me!

In a strong action it's got to be pretty much on par with the 375H&H.
Only have the 9.3x62's here, 2500fps with the 286gr was enough for me, could have gone higher, but went lower for ease on the shoulder lol.

I had a #1 in that chambering, but found the shorter barrel (22 inches, I think?) just didn't carry and "hang" as well as a 26-inch barrel. I'm very grateful to Ruger for not building a 26-inch 9.3x74r...saved me some money. :)

back to the top. who still like that cartridge?

Phil! DAFUQ? Never figured you for a necroposter!

To your question, I've never played with one, but I can't see how a #1 is the x74R wouldn't be an amazing rifle for the way we hunt here in Nova Scotia. In fact, I have at least one space 1.5-5x Leupold so it really does make sense to get a rifle for it!
