9.3x57 OAL

I have a question about the 9.3x57 mauser cartridges. I am loading my own using norma new brass and hornady 286 RN. If I make them the overall length I find online the bullet is seated out very far it seems to me. What is the average overall length for this cartridge? Or do you seat the bullet in the indent around it?I am using an OAL of 3.189 or there abouts. Thanks

Since you are doing the loading, you can seat it perfectly for your individual rifle..... long enough to fit the magazine, but not too long to chamber in the barrel.

just seat it like said above, just long enough to chamber .020 off the lands and enough it fits the magazine

The stock magazine of the HVA M/94/96/38 based series (46 and 46A) measures no longer than 3.240" (the 649 magazines are milled a bit longer, around 3.260").
Now, the ONLY RELIABLE dimensional source for the 9.3X57 is NORMA, as the round does not have an official CIP approval.
The MAX OAL for the 9.3X57, according to Norma is 3.094".

Both of mine, including round nose loads, use loads seated to 3.230", and feed and chamber just fine.

And i see no wrong with it. I didn't mean it have to be kept at Norma's lenght, I only said the only reliable source for the round is Norma, as they're the only ones who still load it (and one of the very few who ever loaded it).
