9.3x62 as a target round? Sure....why not?

Had to find a better scope then the old K3 this came with...every shot was knocking more glue and lens coatings off the inside and I could barely see through it anymore.
Couple guys on here I respect said good things about the Bushnell Legend 1.75-5x32, I'm more in the "made in China, it's junk" camp but swallowed that back and ordered one up from Higginson, $35 mail in rebate on so it's about $155 to my door. Main reason for this model was it's compact, nice long eye relief, and decent glass. (I did play with one at Sail a few weeks ago so it wasn't a totally blind purchase).
I was expecting it to come apart, it did not to my relief. Held zero through 20 rounds which is about my limit before falling apart myself.
100m, Speer 270gr over 57gr of varget, MV brass and Win Mag primers. Not bad for a rifle built in 1940.... original chambering was the whimpy 9.3x57 lol.

Nice group. Have you cronoed that load or have a sound guess to your velocity? I'm curious because I use the same bullet and weight in 375H&H. Haven't worked up a gentle load yet for the rifle.

Just under 2400fps in this rifle with that load . I had another load today that felt a bit more stout....full case of 414 and a 286 Hornady, I'll get it over the chrony next time out.
 
I'll admit a load that would require less intense concentration to enjoy shooting is attractive. As time passes I will probably burn a lot less powder to get similar results. Too bad growing up and getting old happen at the same time.

One benefit is when I shot the 30'06 after it felt like a .223. 7.62x39 felt like a cap gun lol.
 
Compared to a 375 shooting a 270gr at 2800ish, I think 2400fps would be pleasure. CGN, the place where I learn better is the enemy of good enough. Watch, in 25yrs I'll be shooting a 30-06 Browning....
 
^ might be a bit of weight difference in rifles in the two chamberings that would affect the recoil

iirc those huskies are a lot lighter than your average 375 h&h

Roger that on the recoil. I had a 375Ruger that weighed as much as a 30-06. It was a lot more energetic that the CZ375 at the same velocity.
 
When I got it, the added on cheek piece was much higher, I couldn't get my fat head behind the scope. It had a 1/4" rubber covered steel buttpad poorly fit so I replaced with same. Does zero for the recoil... maybe a bit better then straight steel, but not much lol.

I got pretty lucky with this one... member Andy had just bought a 9.3x62 reamer and I was looking for a cheap rifle in that chambering. He did the reaming himself, but lucky for me he never shot it... otherwise it may not have ended up with me lol.

Now this one is much nicer to shoot....285gr PRVI pills at 2500~fps out of the 26" barrel. Much more recoil friendly... although still quite light. The 3rd 9.3x62 done with Andy's reamer.

Of all those I tried and owned, I still have to find a 9.3 caliber rifle that doesn't shoot straight...
 
Nice shooting! You got a deal on the scope (I got hosed, $211 from Amazon but got free shipping). The 3 I have are still holding up just fine.

Scopes work great right up until the shot that breaks it. ;)

I haven't had much playtime with the 9.3 Shaw barrel built on a K98 yet....first trip resulted in a stripped rear base screw and realization that the Dane scrubbing of the front ring required a higher front base... just got around to fixing that up. Put another 20 through it and everything is holding up, next go will be for accuracy, but it looks pretty good so far.

I also got lucky with the side mount base....the ring screws were pretty marred up and hard to tighten, had a dozen hex head in the bin that were the same thread so no worries of it coming loose now.
I can see picking up a few more of these Legend scopes for a couple different rifles... they are a good fit.
