I stayed at a friends in Northern AB on his trapline for a week looking for moose +elk.I shot this dry cow at 180 yards with my Husky 9.3x62 using 286gr Hornady and 58gr/RE15 Later in the hunt while watching an elk crossing a black wolf tried to cross at 105 yards and also got a 9.3 The wolf weighed 85lbs/female.Will make a stunning rug with double black felt trim........Harold

Bullets worked fine on moose but was shooting through second growth clearcut poplars.Hit shoulder knuckle/blade with first one and she took a second rd in the lungs next. The wolf dropped never moving except 3 tail flips no expansion or hide damage.Admittedly overgunned but that's what i was holding at the time?Just finished making 80 lbs of burger and had Flintstone sized pepper steak last night.......could have shot several WT bucks all rutted up and chasing does all over in broad daylight.I will be carrying my TC Renegade .54 for that.I didn't use it up north as grizzlies were in the area and I was with my young lad...........Harold

Antlerless tag in any WMU that has a draw. There was a 80% die off of moose and deer about 2006 when they had an accumulated snowfall of 9 ft and if that wasn't enough survivors got a spring dose of wood ticks.Never affected the elk at all. They are slowly coming back.We saw 7 moose in a week compared to 22 before. Grand Prairie area...................Harold

Impossible to be over-gunned. Dead is dead...

It would be interesting to know some of it's history /kills European elg/moose and boar...............Harold

Well done, two fine animals. I always thought the dark phase wolves looked the nicest myself! Gotta love those 9.3's; great effectiveness with reasonable recoil and little meat damage!
