9.3x62 'plans' in motion

Johnn, I'm not being critical of your scope choice, I have and like 3200s, but my favorite scope over a Mauser action is the straight tube Leupold 1.5-5.
Reason being it allows for more fore and aft movement than most scopes with a belled front, it usually clears iron sights if necessary, has very good eye relief and can handle recoil well.
Since my hunting ' comfort ' zone is within 300 yds. I find magnification to be more than adequate.

Actually, it's Charles Daly who had the 20 and 55A made for his Zastava rifles (Mark X), so, it's pretty old, too ;) .
But the 45 and 46 are the original bases for the FN Commercial and FN Supreme....

Baribal,:) once again I find I've benefited from your knowledge and input. Thank you and it appears to be 'good to go'.



Next step,:D start working up some loads. One more question if I may, I believe the only numerical difference between the standard bases and the pivot bases is the pivot bases required would be # 146 for the front ring and #145 for the rear one. Correct? If so, sometime soon down the road, I'd like to change over to Weaver Pivot mounts.

Kevan, the primary reason I went with the Bushnell Elite 3200 is it was a gift from the 'kids' that I've had for a while and one of the few suitable I have at present.

And thanks to all others for your input and suggestions. Much appreciated.

I only mentioned my experiences with the Leupold straight tube scopes on the Mausers in case you had further issues.
I'm presently rummaging through my scopes trying to find a fit for that Dumoulin as its an FN Mauser action using the exact same bases as yours and also like your Zastava has a rear sight to work around..... nothing like a little fun for a chilly day, good excuse to be inside the shop.....

as usual you bring that little piece of history.

i didnt knew about Charles Daly story. what i know in the old times it was Zrak, EAW or Weaver ...

but both are working and great to have more than one option.

Just minor issues to over come, Johnn! A fine looking combination, you have created. Mine will be getting a trim and a haircut in a couple weeks when I have reading break. Also received 286gr Norma Plastic Points and some of jethunter's 285gr cast offerings to try out on a bullet trade that arrived today.

I'm also a big fan of Guinness, especially on tap across the pond. I spent a month in Northern Ireland about 15 years ago and dated a rather wealthy lass, who plied me with a great deal of Guinness. :cheers:

I've posted this in a previous thread/post, but, here it is again. Guinness was part of a goodly number of pub lunchs.



And believe it or not,:p those are onion rings with the pint:rockOn:.
 
The Guinness helps your body ignore the signals that your arteries are contracting while you are eating the fat pills...............

While it may not justify my indulgance in Guinness,;) to counteract some of those ill effects is why I ride bike.



Plus, cardio improvements to help climbing the hillsides during hunting season and also to help mitigate the effects of 40+ years of smoking.

I've GOT to get back into shape. I have a Colnago road bike with Campi parts that needs to be ridden. Can't wait for Spring!
