I am almost certain that if you have a 3.235 magazine, you probably have a Mauser, but not a 98. Husqvarna made and sold many rifles commercially, made from or patterned off the Swedish 94/96/38 actions that were made by Carl Gustaf armoury and by Husqvarna. I believe their Model 46, 146 and some 649's were all chambered in 9.3x62 and would have had 3.235 magazines. My Husqvarna is apparently a Model 640, chambered in 9.3x62 on an FN Mauser 98 action with the 3.315 magazine.
SAAMI does not and never did apply outside USA, and is not even mandatory there - it is a voluntary standard. Sweden does not even belong to C.I.P., so have always had their own standards. Otto Bock, in Germany, is credited with developing the 9.3x62, in 1905, specifically for use in the Mauser rifles then readily available. If you go through the NORMA reloading information, the longest loads are shown as 3.228", so no idea where SAAMI came up with their maximum length of 3.290.
