9.3x62 vs the rest

I’ve tried them in load development but could not get them to where I wanted them accuracy wise, but I need to try again, it would be great for caribou!!

I remember Doug saying it was his favourite bullet in the x62. He shot a walrus with it I think.

He used one to take a huge bull moose with me one time. Late evening and he couldn’t see the sights on his bow. Grabbed my old 9.3X62 rifle and pasted it.

The recovered Speer 270 travelled through about thirty inches after breaking two ribs going in. The picture is on here somewhere, and would be perfect for an advertisement.

Don’t listen to those who say it is too soft.

Old Douglas was a big advocate of the walrus hunt he kept suggesting it to me as a good budget “ adventure” hunt . I can’t speak to the bullet but I remember him using a full stock cz 550 9.3 to slay his.

What a character

I should never have read this thread because now I want one. lol

Are those cheap Husqvarna's any good?
I have a Husqvarna 1640 in 9.3x62. Came with an "Exclusive " 2.5 power scope on it. Only had too adjust windage 1/4" @ 100 yds. Ready to shoot, light to carry, and points easily. What's not to like?

Anyone using the Speer 270gr? Lots of people swear by them in the x57.

certainly the best budget bullet and surprisingly way better than the price and the reports from some haters ...it amazed me to see how the partition performed in my test compared to the speer .. i do think i still have 450 of those speer bullets and they are working great on the 9.3x57 level. but as shown in multiple examples and even down under where it is working on the water buffalo. cant wait to read someone using them on bison.

Ted posted pictures of those bullets after some animals that felt like moose or black bear as we can proof is in the pudding.

my fear is that this bullet wont be produced again ever. midway said they re out of stock with no backorder.

I doubt you’ll ever be able to shoot 450 walruses so you should be ok
