in front of such beauty, my cheap part of brain keeps bugging me... how much was it?

I have got extremely lucky. My local gun store had one for sale for 3500 CDN and that was bit on the high site for me. I knew that this cal will not sell to people who just want to have a rifle because getting ammo is hard.
So I was waiting patiently till maybe they drop the price. And they did, it went down to 1950 :dancingbanana:
They dropped it on Saturday nite, I watched that on the website and Tuesday morning when they open the store I was first and I got it.
When I seen the quality of the wood and metal work, I just couldn't believe it. I thought it will be just a regular Sauer 90, and that looked like Elegance model.
I contacted Sauer in Germany, and I found out the origin of the rifle. It was a sort of custom order and the model was Luxus version, produced in 1986 or 88 for Canada. It came with a custom Leupold high gloss bases, probably made in Europe by good gunsmith.

Now I am collecting parts and bits for the rifle.
I got brass (100rds of RWS), bullets are Barnes 286gr, yesterday I have ordered shell holder from P&D. I still wait for Redding dies and I need to put a nice scope on it.

I am leaning towards Swarovski line, and I am particularly interested with 2.5-10x42, not 56, since most of my hunting will be done in Canada, not Europe.

What will be your choice of the scope for that rifle?

Thanks

I think a Swarovsky or Kahles scope is the only way to go.No point putting an inferior scope on a premium rifle.I've got a Steyr Mannlicher Mod.S Tropical in 9,3x64 and a Swarovsky 3-12x56 on it.I bought that gun and scope, when i was 16 and now 20 years later,it's as relyable and accurate as ever.Good choice with that gun and you wont regret choosing a 9,3x64.
