9.3x66 Loads

thanks.So far the only powder I have used with any success is varget.

I use 71grs with a 286gr bullet and 74 grs with a 250gr bullet, VV-550 powder. This duplicates factory loads in these two weights.
Also, have tried Varget and RL-15, load s are between a 9.3x62 and 9.3x64 Brenneke, which is to say mid-60's grains.

Just for interest's sake - what cartridge is this? I've checked both the Cartridges of the World and Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions and neither have a 9.3x66 listed.

It is also called the .370 Sako Magnum. Apparently Federal makes ammo.

The 12th edition of Cartidges of the World has the 9.3x66 in Euro catridges.

There was also a wildcat 9.3x66 back in the day that was a 300 Win Mag case necked up to take .366 bullets. - dan

It is based on the 30-06 just necked up to .366.
Long cartridge does not like slow powder.
I love it for moose.
