if like green asks you are after 10 mm Dutch revolver,it may well be 9.4mm

The cartridge came out in 1873 for the Dutch military and police. It was offered in a double-action revolver of either 5 or 6 shots, depending on model. The revolver has a unique feature - if you turn the Laynard 1/4 turn it will lock up the revolver.

Loaded ammo is impossible to obtain but it can be made from .41 Magnum brass shortened & necked down. The .380 diameter bullets also have to be custom made.

A while back I was considering the same thing. The research I did led me to believe that the 10 mm Soerabaja Dutch East Indies Service Revolver cartridge is actually the 9.4mm Dutch No.3.(9.4Dutch)see specs in last post.It could however be the KNIL M91 in 10.4mm
This was what helped me decide.

The designation 9,4 mm is the nominal and official diameter designation of the Dutch revolver cartridges.
Attention!
The bullet diameter is 10 mm!
The field diameter of the barrel is 9,4 mm.
The groove diameter: 9,6 mm.

These barrel dimensions cover all Dutch military revolvers.

The 9.4 round was also used in the Belgian made Dutch police revolvers.

Regarding the Dutch police revolvers. I have two examples: One has a safety on the left side which engages and locks the cylinder, I was told that this is a prison guard revolver. The other has a hidden safety which is engaged by turning the lanyard loop, which is connnected to a bar which locks the hammer.

Slugging the barrel once you had possession would say for sure.I have more info if you need it.
Maybe someone with some hands on can say for sure..

The 9.4 and 10 mm are two different ctgs differing in length.
The 9.4 (Scherpe Patroon No. 5) was used by the Dutch home army.
The 10 (Scherpe Patroon No. 3) was used by the Dutch East Indies.
It appears that the 9.4 would fire in a 10mm but the 9.4 is even scarcer than the 10mm.

Dutch Pistols

I just received my Antique Dutch revolvers and as som CGNers where right, the barrell opening has a 9.4 mm (.370 of a inch))opening not 10mm and roughly a 31.50mm (11/4 inches)brass length. Now here starts the ammo tracking.Any help woild be great. Thanks Samson
