Hey guys,

I'm thinking of putting a rail that will cover the barrel right up to the flash hider on my 10.5" AR.

I've ordered a 7" and am now reconsidering about getting a 9". I'm thinking DD, Samson, Troy or MI.

This would be a good example:

Anyone have this setup? I'd love to see some pics !!

The rifle in the picture has a one-piece monolithic upper receiver, known as the MRP, by Lewis Machine and Tool (LMT).

I have a LaRue Tactical 9" handguard on my 10.25" gun, and with the LaRue low profile gas block, the gasblock is literally flush with the end of the rail. It's perfect.

I had the 9" Troy originally, but I prefer the design, construction, and overall fit and finish of the LaRue.

I don't have any pictures now, but I should probably get some and post them, because I have one ###y rifle. Seriously. ;)

Dave you have one of the craziest looking setups I've ever seen. Good call on the tan i'm looking for a 10.5 and going for that tan/black and eotech combo. Awesome job.

Awesome, thanks for all the pics .. Pavehammer, you have to post some pics after that grand introduction !! :D

Where can I score a Larue rail???

Ok, I'm loving the 9" rail on the shorties ... I checked out Noveske's site and they have a similar setup, but they say it's a 10" rail.. kinda looks like Spike's 9" to me though?!

If one chooses to go with the RRA 9mm pistol, will the gas block on the A4fit under a LaRue hand guard? and if you have to change the gas block will a regular A15 low profile do the job. Thinking about the LaRue low profile block.

The RRA gas block will not fit under the Larue. I'm not sure if the Larue low profile block will work on the 9mm bbl.

You don't need a gas block on a RRA 9MM AR. There is no gas tube.

On the ones that come with a railed gas block, the barrel is not even drilled for FSB pins.

Looks like I'll be picking up a Troy 9" ... does anyone know if any low profile gas block will work inside of it?

The Troy one is not available .. will MI or some other brand do the trick?

Thanks.

Ya all will clear, installing it properlly is the key tho... you should dimple the barrel where the set screws will lock it in place and these can move with heat so its not the best.

Standard FSB is the way to go, just cut the top off and round over the edges. Do a search on here or ARF.com for modding FSB.
