You don't need a gas block on a RRA 9MM AR. There is no gas tube.

On the ones that come with a railed gas block, the barrel is not even drilled for FSB pins.

I'm also planning to build a 9mm 10.5" AR flattop with 9" FF rail.

Question: Is it easy to remove the A4 rail "gas block" that comes with the RRA 9mm 10.5" uppers ?
I'm guessing it's only set screws that hold it on the barrel... so it would be just unscrewing the FH, loosen up the set screws and slip out the gas block, right ? I just hope there's nothing welded !

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of putting a rail that will cover the barrel right up to the flash hider on my 10.5" AR.

I've ordered a 7" and am now reconsidering about getting a 9". I'm thinking DD, Samson, Troy or MI.

This would be a good example:

Anyone have this setup? I'd love to see some pics !!

Correct.

It probably took me all of 30 seconds to remove mine.

My build was based on this one ... it cost around $4500 !! Minus the weapon light you're at $3700

The MRP upper is another many hundreds more over a regular one.

Components:

+ LMT 10.5" AR15
+ Troy 9" FF Rail
+ Noveske KX3 Flash Suppressor
+ Magpul CTR stock
+ Magpul PMAG /window
+ Magpul MIAD grip
+ EOTech 512
+ Surefire M900a Weapon light
+ Troy flip-up sights
